Here is some real wilderness birding! The vast expanse of tundra north of Whitehorse is
home to Surfbirds, Northern Wheatears and Gray-crowned Rosy Finches. Try Surfbird Mountain
in late May for high alpine birds.
Kluane
National Park and Reserve
61.00 N 138.50 W
Several of Canada's highest mountain peaks are in the park. Glaciers give way to valleys
with spruce and aspen. Start at the Dezadeash River Trail and listen for warblers. All
three ptarmigan are seen in the southern part of the Park.
