Video of Bird Identification by Ear Using Audio Device
This short video clip explains what sorts of playback devices birders may use to listen to pre-recorded birdsongs and practice their skills birding by ear. The expert displays his tape recorder, and also discusses more modern audio devices such as ipods and PDA's which may be used to practice birdsong identification. He discusses playing birdsong on speakers to attract a bird into the open and considers when this may or may not be appropriate.
