Birding Field Guides Video. Choosing Resources for Bird Watching
This short video clip explains the features of different sorts of field guides and identifies some basic differences between them. The birding expert explains that any good field guide will have rich images to assist the birder in identifying bird species, but that the source of the images can vary drastically from guide to guide. Some guides use photographs, while others use illustrations, but ultimately the field guide for bird watching must suit its user well and the birder must be familiar with its layout and content.
